Yvonne Lucille Cox “Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next (last) generation, your might to all who are to come”. Psalm71:18 We say farewell to our dear mother and beloved grandmother, who went home January5, 2019. She will be missed as she was admired.

Her world centered around her family, her church, and her devotion to her Savior. She paved a path to Heaven for the rest of us. Yvonne was born January 10, 1928 to Allmer B. Cox and Norma Lucille Burkhart Cox in Terre Haute, IN.

Her father was a traveling salesman and she loved telling stories of their many moves and going to different schools in every grade. She graduated from Sullivan High School in 1945. She married Garland Cox on April 8, 1950.

In addition to being a farm wife and working along side her husband, she also worked as a tax accountant for Brown and Woodsmall Public Accountants for 35 years. She loved singing in the church choir, gardening, reading and all of our family traditions. Yvonne’s faith in God was all encompassing.

She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Shelburn for 51 years, having taught the love of Jesus to children in Sunday school for 40 of those years. Waiting for her in heaven is her husband, who passed away in 1997, and here parents. She is survived by daughters, Deborah Davis (Donald), Christy Hutchison (Rodney): sister, Faytha McAnally (Carl); grandchildren, Sarah Flesher (Chad), Amy Hutchison (Kevin), Leah Newton (Kevin), Joshua Davis (Dawn), Jennifer Hooper (David); 16 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Great is that gap left by a loving, praying mother. Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Shelburn, IN with Pastor Ben Wetherington, and Bro Kenny Bolinger officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until services Wednesday at the Church.

Burial will follow in the Nyes Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.
