Obituary for Zoran Stefanovic Zoran Stefanovic, age 78 of Crown Point, passed away suddenly June 9, 2018. He was born in Aleksinac, Serbia and came to the United States on February 19, 1970 with his wife and children to Gary, Indiana. They later moved and settled in Crown Point, IN.

Zoran was a former member of St George Serbian Orthodox Church in East Chicago. He then became an active member of St Sava Serbian Orthodox church in 1978, where he was currently a member. Zoran was a long time employee of US Steel in Gary, and a retired employee of the Merrillville Community School Corporation after many years of dedicated service.

Zoran is preceded in death by his parents Branislav & Miroslava Stefanovic. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Ljiljana Stefanovic; two beloved children, son Ljubisha “Lou” (Helen) Stefanovic, and daughter Biljana “Billie” (Igor) Vrbica; three cherished grandchildren, Dejan, Sasha & Petar; two sisters in Serbia, Ljupce Stefanovic & his twin Zorica Milojevic, and their families; and many other relatives, Kumovi and dear friends both here and in Serbia. Zoran loved gardening and had a passion for carpentry.

He was a genuine man who touched many souls in his lifetime with his kindness. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. May his memory be eternal!

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft St, Merrillville from 4pm to 8pm with a Pomen Service at 7pm. V. Rev Marko Matic officiating. Funeral Services will be held Thursday directly at 10am at St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 9191 Mississippi St, Merrillville.
