Obituary for Donna Mace Donna “Danica” (nee Tarailo) Mace, age 87, of Portage, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 21 2018. Donna was born in Gary, Indiana in 1930. She graduated from Emerson High School class of 1948.

Throughout her career, Donna worked in local government; as a secretary and in retail where she was vice-president of her local at the United Retail Workers’ Union. She rounded out her career managing Bronko’s restaurant in Portage, Indiana. Donna loved her family and had a very special bond with her granddaughter Aleksandra.

She was an avid reader, she loved music and enjoyed cooking and baking. Her personality and love for others was larger than life. She took a genuine interest in everyone she encountered.

She had the biggest most generous heart and she will be dearly missed and remembered. Memory Eternal! Donna is preceded in death by her son (Mitar) Mitch Mace & parents Nikola & Mara Tarailo, & siblings Bronko Tarailo & Violet Tica.

Donna is survived by her daughter Marija (Tony) Ramon, granddaughters Aleksandra Ramon & Stephanie Singh; great grandson Easton McCanna, the Ramon Five; special caregiver Jennifer Sheets; dear nieces, nephews, cousins, Kumovi and friends. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11am at St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 9191 Mississippi St, Merrillville, IN with V. Rev Marko Matic Officiating. There will be a visitation beginning at 10am prior to the funeral service at the church.
