Gloria Maria Lopez, 89, of Hammond, IN, passed away at St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center in Hammond, IN on July 3, 2018. She was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico on December 25, 1928 to Valentin and Nicholasa Roman. She married Ramon Lopez and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Gertrude (Steve) Lopez-DuFresne, Ramon (Susan) Lopez, Ada (Michael) Davis, Gloria Lopez; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Fela Roman, Maximina Roman, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Lopez, parents, Valentin and Nicholasa Roman, son, Luis Lopez, two sisters and four brothers. Gloria loved gardening, cooking and shopping.

She was a great mom, grandmother and dear friend. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 – 219 980-5555. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Gloria will be dearly missed by her loving family and dear friends.
