Obituary for Mr. Adelle Brunson, Sr. Adelle Brunson, Sr., was born on October 16, 1948, in Manning, South Carolina to Rufus Brunson, Sr., and Gracie Camilla Brunson. He was the eighth of thirteen children, having a quiet and a gentle spirit. He attended Scotch Branch Elementary, Scotch Branch High School in Summerton, South Carolina; Charles R. Drew and Ocoee High School in Ocoee, Florida.
The family relocated to Winter Garden, Florida where they planted their lives in the community. They united with Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where several of them still serve. Adelle continued his education by attending Charles R. Drew High School.
Upon graduation he joined the ranks of the working class at Knox Nursey, Dreyfus Louis Citrus and retired from driving trucks for Conley Citrus. He loved his family dearly and sought to provide for them in all ways. Being Papa was one of his greatest joys.
Their prayer was “Dear God, please let Papa get better”. His friends found him to be trustworthy and loyal. His hobbies included watching movies, playing dominos and being a die-hard, win or lose fan for the Florida Gators and Pittsburg Steelers.
On Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 2:05 pm, Adelle’s earthly journey came to an end as he transitioned from life to death. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rufus Brunson, Sr., and Gracie Camilla Brunson, brother: Rufus Bronson, Jr., sister: Christine Dowe and grandson: Adien Russ.
Adelle leaves precious memories to cherish: sons: Adam Russ, Sr. (Latoya) Adelle Brunson, Jr., (Chloe), daughters: Rysher Brunson, Kenyatta Dudley and Elisha Gilbert (who looked to him as a father figure) all of Winter Garden, FL; five grandchildren: Adam Russ, Jr. Londyn Mosley, Lyric Brunson, Logan Brunson and Landyn Brunson all of Winter Garden, FL; a special friend: Barbara Hylton, six brothers: Jacob Brunson (Dorothy) Winter Garden, FL; Esau Brunson, Miami, FL; Thomas Brunson, Moses Brunson (Angie) all of Orlando, FL; Ernest Brunson and Pernell Brunson both of New York, NY; five sisters: Margaret Brunson and Mary McFadden, Brooklyn, NY; Rutha Mae Dowe, Winter Garden, FL; Gracie Flemming and Shirley Jenkins (Larry) Orlando, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
