Obituary for Mrs. Helen Perkins Wheeler Mrs. Helen Perkins Wheeler was born on January 30, 1936 in Boynton Beach, Florida; she is the daughter of Mr. Clark Perkins and Mrs. Evelyn Perkins. She was married in 1954 to Mr. Stanley James Wheeler. She moved to Winter Park in 1942.

She was a member at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was active in the Health Ministry, The Choir and Senior’s and Women’s Ministry. Mrs. Helen attended Hannibal Square Elementary School and Hungerford High School.

She also received her HHA certificate (Home Health Aide) from Seminole Community College. Mrs. Wheeler worked at Winter Park Memorial Hospital Environmental Services in Labor and Delivery for four years. She retired from Rollins College after laboring for thirty-six years.

She was a member of the Seniors First and Sara’s kitchen in Winter Park, Florida. She was a loving and compassionate person, who loved and cared for her family and neighbors. In her neighborhood, (ROGERS AVENUE) where she lived for forty-eight years, she was known as “Ma Helen, Mama, Gramps, Mrs. Helen and Helen (only Mimi & Mrs. Gert could call her by her name).

She had several adopted children and neighbors on Rogers that loved and always made sure she was taken care. (WE THANK YOU! ) Preceding her in death her husband, Stanley James Wheeler, one son, MSG Eliot K. Wheeler, her Parents and one sibling.

Mrs. Helen P. Wheeler leaves to cherish loving memories, sons, Zachary Young (Lisa), Stanley Wheeler III (Desiree); daughters: Kim Whittaker (Edwin) and Mona Smith; daughter-in-law, Debra Wheeler twelve grand children, Anson, Kasinda, Jonas, Zachary II, Jessica, Nikita, Jamal, Joanne, Jarel, Destinee, Evensia, Kimari, Edwin, Jr., Shayla and Danielle; ten great- grandchildren; brothers, Robert Perkins (Joanne), James Perkins (Margaret); sisters, Thelma Woodard (Cleveland), Mary Perkins, Paulette Collins (Herbert), Cheryl Pugh (Floyd); a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
