Obituary for Agnes Dorothy Spencer Agnes Dorothy Spencer, 92, of Central City, died on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Litzenberg Memorial Long Term Care in Central City. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church in Central City with Pastor Curtis Cooper officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, November 19 from 5-7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City.

Interment will be held at the Burke Cemetery. Memorials aren suggested to the family and condolences may be sent to the family at www. soltwagnerfuneral.com.

Agnes was born on November 27, 1925 to Carl and Marie (Killham) Christensen in Dannebrog. She lived in Dannebrog and Elba. Agnes graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1944.

Agnes was united in marriage to Robert M. Spencer on October 28, 1945 in Grand Island. The couple had six children and Agnes stayed home to raise them. She later worked at the Central Café, Lincoln Manor Steakhouse, Hesteds, and then Besteds.

Agnes then went to work as a cook at the high school where she remained until her retirement. Agnes was a member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren and also helped Robert with woodworking by doing the painting.

Agnes was a very dedicated Kansas City Royals Fan. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Delores “Dee” Mason of Flushing, MI, Rita Critel of York, Janet and Jack Schneider of Grand Island, Louise and Craig Pena of Reno, NV, Charles “Chuck” and Brenda Spencer of Benedict, Roger and Teri Spencer of Polk; her sister, Mildred Anderson of Omaha; 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; great-grandson, Keagan Murray; grandson, Cody Gibson; sons-in-law, Bill, Boyd, Bill W., and Ned; brothers, Don, Lloyd, and Harold Christensen; and sister Pearl Gress.
