Strnad, a resident of Macomb, Michigan passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the age of 87. She was born April 18,1932 in Teague, Texas to the late William and Alta Veda Strange Phillips. On April 23, 1955 at St. Louis Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Russell F. Strnad.

He preceded his wife in death October 14, 1981. For many years, Mrs. Strnad was employed at Alvin’s, a ladies clothing store, as a sales clerk. After their Lakeside Mall store closed, she was employed by St. Joseph East and St. Joseph West Hospitals (now known as Henry Ford) at the information desk.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Strnad took ballroom dance lessons, where she learned many of her favorite styles of dance. An avid reader, one of her favorite authors was Nora Roberts and recently finished a book she recommended to the other readers in her family.

Her trip to Ireland and many trips to Texas to visit relatives gave lasting memories to all. She will be remembered as a talented seamstress, sewing family clothing for Easter, proms, bridesmaids and everyday wear. She will be greatly missed by her children, Susan (Joseph) Lietaert, Lori (Patrick) Tuscany and David (Amy) Strnad.

She was the proud grandmother of Jacob (Annie) Lietaert, Zachary (Lauren) Lietaert, Lance (Brittany) Tuscany, Ross Tuscany, Austin and Noah Strnad, great grandchildren Benjamin, Carter, Weston, with one soon to arrive. She is also survived by siblings, Barbara Powell, John (Evelyn) Phillips, James (Shirley) Phillips and Neal Phillips as well as nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Marie, Helen and Billy.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Scripture/Prayer Service at 7:30 pm in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 9:30 am (instate at 9:00 am) at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mount Clemens, Michigan with the Rev. Michael N. Cooney officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Clinton Twp. , MI. Contributions may be addressed to the American Cancer Society.
