Obituary for Albert “Brud” William Soukup Albert “Brud” William Soukup, 71, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home in Dover Plains surrounded by his loving family. Brud was a lifelong dairy and crop farmer who owned and operated Soukup Farm in Dover Plains, NY. Born on May 4, 1947 in New Milford, CT, he was the son of the late Albert and Olive (Fischer) Soukup.
Mr. Soukup received an Associate’s degree in Animal Husbandry from SUNY Cobleskill. On August 1, 1970 in Pawling, NY he married Patricia Emmeluth who survives at home. Brud was a former director of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County, a delegate to the Yankee Milk Cooperative in Hartford, CT, a former treasurer of the Dutchess County Dairy Committee and a member of the Agway Store Committee in Clinton Corners, NY.
He was also a member of the Dutchess County Pilots Association. In addition to his loving wife, Brud is survived by a son, Mark Soukup and his wife, Jennifer, of Dover Plains, NY; a sister, Nancy Kelley and her husband, James, of Pleasant Valley, NY and two granddaughters, Molly Olive Soukup and Emma Ruth Soukup. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY.
