Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home. Age 90 years. The son of the late Albert H. and Christina (Goodeman) Bauer, Ray was born May 13, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan.

He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He married Helen Weisheim on October 20, 1951. She survives him.

Ray was a member of Local #668 Steamfitters Union. He was employed at Brenske Plumbing & Heating and retired from General Motors in 1985. Ray was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Zilwaukee.

He served as a volunteer fireman for the Zilwaukee Fire Department. Ray enjoyed, hunting fishing, camping and woodworking. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.

Surviving besides his wife Helen are two daughters, one son and their spouses, Sue and Jim Finkbeiner, Freeland; Diana and Bruce Finkbeiner, Saginaw; Michael and Ann Bauer, Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Kelly (David), Brad (Angie), Ryan (Lisa), Cori (Alan), Katie (Keith), Seth and Alexander; eight great-grandchildren, Aislinn, Amelia, Ava, Ezekiel, Malachi, Gideon, Maggie and Keith III; a brother-in-law, Dennis and Suzanne Kross; many nieces and nephews; Ray’s canine companion, Bella-Jean. Ray was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Seman, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church, 318 S. Franklin Street in Zilwaukee.

Rev. Joshua Becker will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.
