OBITUARY Alfredo Salinas Garza Jr. February 4, 1953 – November 24, 2018 Alfredo “Rocha” Salinas Garza, Jr. was welcomed into his eternal home in Heaven on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 65. He was born on February 4, 1953 to Alfredo Garza, Sr. and Agapita Salinas Garza in Falfurrias, Texas. Alfredo loved to play sports like football and baseball during his school aged days and was known for his outstanding talent.
He graduated from Falfurrias High School in 1972 and immediately entered into the workforce. He worked as a factory worker and machine operator with Homecrest in Indiana, Field Map Specialist with the USDA, Mechanic for Dunn Chevrolete, Meter man with his brother Chuy’s company – South Texas Measurement, self-employed mechanic, rancher and show goat breeder. Rocha enjoyed meeting with his friends at Whataburger every morning and spending time outside with his many animals.
He was so proud to be a father and grandfather and he showed it in the many life lessons he taught them. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his strong will. He is preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Ariela Andrea Aleman; brothers, Samuel and Jesus Garza and brother-in-law, Stan Hite.
He leaves behind to cherish many memories his grateful family, wife of over 35 years, Amanda Benavides Garza of Falfurrias, Texas; his five daughters, Sandrina Ilene (Abel Longoria) Garza of Falfurrias, Selina Brianna (Adam) Moreno of Falfurrias, Amalia “Mollie” Isabel (Octavio) Gaytan of Laredo, Texas, Criselda “Crissy” (Corry) Escalante of Falfurrias and Olga Dalia (AB) Montalvo of Falfurrias; three sons, Eliazar Aleman, Javier (Misty) Aleman and Faustino “Tino” (Edna) Aleman, III all of Falfurrias; brother, Raudel Garza of Falfurrias; four sisters, Maria (Dave) Huber and Diana Hite both of Goshen, Indiana, Lydia Garza of Las Vegas, Nevada and Nori Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Mary Garza; 25 grandchildren with one on the way; 13 great-grandchildren; his dog, Levi and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Luis Arevalo, Lino Duque, Reyes “Prieto” Garcia, Jr., Mario Huerta, Romeo Ozuna and Felix Saenz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Cantu, Raul Trevino and Ramon Navarro.
Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams with Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
