Alice Murriel Beatty Willis, age 90 of Belfast, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in NHC Lewisburg. Mrs. Willis was a native of Belfast, Tennessee born May 5, 1928 daughter of Robert Ezra and Lottie Calahan Beatty. She was a member of the last graduating class from Belfast High School graduating as valedictorian of her class.

She attended Drones Business College graduating with a business degree. She was retired from Gordon’s Hospital as a bookkeeper. The love of her life, was working side by side as the wife of Billy Ewell Willis on their farm.

She was a member of Church Street Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Ewell Willis and her brother, Ross Reed Beatty. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Murriel (Gene) Clanton of Lewisburg, two sons, Robert Esmond Willis of Nashville, and Buddy (Patty) Willis of Lewisburg, she raised a nephew as her son, Ray Beatty of Tullahoma, eleven grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted by Bill Tankersley Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Head Springs Cemetery in Belfast. The family will be at London Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Thursday for visitation until the funeral hour. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
