Obituary for Alice Ryan Scott 92, of Prospect, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at home surrounded by her five loving daughters. She was originally from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, one of seven children of an Irish Catholic farming family. Alice was a member of the generation that lived through the Great Depression and World War II.

She was a faithful Catholic, an active member of Saint Albert the Great parish. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, and wife; in fact, despite being in late stage dementia, she responded to a photo of her late husband saying, “That’s my sweetheart! ” She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles J. Scott (a WWII veteran), and is survived by her five daughters, Margaret Scott Galvin (David); Julie Scott Beam (Rich Hornung); Jean Scott Jacobs (Tod); Mary Kay Monohan (Stuart); and Diane Scott; her ten grandchildren, Kate Galvin Griffin (Pat) and Libby Galvin, Trey and Kelly Beam, Lee and Michael Jacobs, Ellen, Megan, and Henry Monohan, and Ryan Scott Cooke.

She is also survived by her brother, Thomas Ryan, and was preceded in death by her other siblings and family members. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Drive, with private burial following. Memorial visitation will be held 5-7 pm on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, “in St. Matthews”.
