Obituary of Alicia Thomas Alicia Anne Carter Thomas, 84, widow of Phillip Fred Thomas, Jr., passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at her home. Born on March 1, 1934, in Darlington, she was a daughter of the late Alston L. Carter and the late Annie Louise Milam Carter. Mrs. Thomas a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and a former member of Johnson Chapel.

She was a member of the choir, WMU and the Ladies Circle. Mrs. Thomas loved music and was well known for her beautiful voice. Along with her husband, Mrs. Thomas was the owner and operator of Thomas Grocery for many years and together they were an instrumental part of the Brown’s Ferry Community.

She had a great love for shopping and enjoyed socializing at the Ball and Que. Mrs. Thomas will be remembered for her generous and compassionate heart. Survivors include four children, Larry Thomas (Connie) of NC, Gary Thomas (Cindy) of Georgetown, Mark Thomas of Pawleys Island and Eric Thomas (Tammi) of Pawleys Island; five grandchildren, Christopher Thomas (Christy), Chelsea Thomas, Phillip Thomas, Nikki Thomas and Jillian Thomas all of Georgetown; seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Alexandra Thomas, Emily Grace Tisdale, Gracin Alan Farwell, Colton James Thomas, Madelyn Alexis McClary, Nash Ellis Carter Monroe and Sebastian Aiden Brooks; a special nephew, Harry Carter (Marie) of Kingstree; and two special nieces, Annette Owens (Ronnie) and Cindy Morris (Larry) both of Georgetown.

She was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Fred Thomas, III; three brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Rose Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM Thursday at Rose Hill Baptist Church.
