Obituary of Larry Sklenar Larry Duane Sklenar, 81, husband of Claire Gottfried Sklenar, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Born in Dunbar, Pennsylvania on September 13, 1937 he was the son of the late Alex Edward Sklenar and Anna Jean Hyatt. Mr. Sklenar earned a BA in English from Baldwin Wallace College and later a Masters degree in Creative Writing from Indiana University at Bloomington.

He retired from the Department of Defense as an Analyst after many years of service. In his free time, Mr. Sklenar enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years, are three sons, Scott Sklenar (Karen) of West Chester, PA, Duane Sklenar (Leslie) of Westminster, MD, Steve Sklenar (Jen) of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren; and one sister, Beverly Norwood of Indiana.

At Larry’s request, there will be no funeral service held. He asked that you think of him occasionally when you hit a golf ball, deal a hand of cards, or lift a beer. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.
