OBITUARY Alta Mae Gregory January 29, 1929 – October 19, 2018 Alta Mae Gregory, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Providence Health Care Center. She was born on January 29, 1929, in Terre Haute to Earl Hoopingarner and Florence (Cottom) Hoopingarner. Alta is survived by her sons, Thomas E. Gregory, William E. Gregory Jr. and Edward N. Gregory; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Gregory Sr.; and brother, Earl “Buddy” and sister, Agnes. Alta worked at Kroger as a cashier and retired after 33 years of dedicated service. She was an avid lottery player and loved to play bingo with her granddaughters.

A funeral ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Per Alta’s wishes, there will be no visitation. She will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
