David Wayne Grubb passed away on Saturday, October 13th at the age of 71. He was born February 7, 1947 to Bernard Grubb and Barbara Bennett Grubb in Terre Haute, IN and graduated from Garfield High School in 1965 and Indiana State University in 1970. After a brief career as a credit manager and insurance agent, David felt the Lord call him to a life in the ministry.

He eventually found his way to the Northwest Church of Christ in Terre Haute, which he served faithfully as minister for 35 years. More than 15 years ago, he began sending out an email devotional series, which he titled “Grace for Your Spirit” after the words of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 6:18; over the years its readership steadily grew, eventually reaching thousands daily. He also considered it part of his calling to provide counsel and comfort to the sick, bereaved, and troubled in Terre Haute and beyond.

He was a Director at Camp Wabashi for many years and served young people throughout his life. The cornerstones of David’s life were his unshakeable faith in God’s love and mercy, and an abiding passion for helping his fellow man. He was a devoted student of the Bible throughout his life, amassing a near-encyclopedic knowledge of theology and Biblical history.

David never met a stranger, making a friend of every person who crossed his path. He had an endless supply of jokes, and always put the needs of others before his own. He brought joy into the life of every person he knew, and he will be profoundly missed.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence & Pearl Bennett and Albert & Beulah Grubb; father Bernard; father in law, Robert W. Bradford Sr. and sister Jane Ann, who died in infancy. He is survived by mother Barbara; brothers Ken (Betsy), John, and Jim (Debbie); sister Peggy Severhof (Rudy); his devoted wife of 47 years, Beverly; children Jonathan (Sara), Alisa, and Michael; grandchildren Kethly, Inara, and Nicodemus; mother in law, Ruth Bradford, and countless more adoring family and friends. Services will be held on Saturday October 20, 2018 in the Northwest Church of Christ, 625 Florida Avenue in Terre Haute at 10 am.

Visitation will be on Friday October 19, 2018 from 4 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday 9 am until service time all at the church. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804 was entrusted with arrangements. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.

Peter W Reed will officiate. Donations may be made to the Northwest Church of Christ in Memory of David. Checks made out to the church will be accepted, and an online fundraiser will be established to accept electronic payments.
