Obituary Our beloved Alton Davis went home to be with his heavenly Father, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:02 A.M. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Greater Union Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA. Alton Davis was born to Sidney Davis and Sadie Harrison Davis on November 2, 1944. He accepted God into his life at the young age of five years old.

He was a Godfearing man and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a good provider for his family. He worked in construction for thirty-seven years.

He was married to his beloved wife, Joyce Edmond Davis for forty-nine years and they had four children from that union, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: wife, Joyce Edmond Davis; two sons, Orlando Davis of Tallahassee, FL and Deacon Curtis Davis of Opelousas, LA. ; two daughters, Darlene Herron (husband) Ivy Herron, Jr. of Baytown, TX and Felicia Hollis (husband) Kelly Ray Hollis, Jr. of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren, Kelicia Hollis, currently residing in Spain, Brittany Herron of Baytown, TX, Symone Thompson (husband) Diante Thompson, and Kelly Ray Hollis, III, stationed in Germany; one great-grand child, Ethan Thompson; three brothers, Sidney Davis, Robert Lee Davis and Moses Davis (wife) Mary Davis, all of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Gertrude Vallan of Lawtell, LA, and Rosalie Woods of Carencro, LA and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, an uncle, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Davis and Sadie Harrison Davis; a grandson, Ivy Herron, III; a nephew, Ernest Davis, Sr.; a brother-in-law, Paul Vallan; sisters-in-law, Edmonia Davis and Minnie Davis. Visiting hours will be observed from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Greater Union Baptist Church. Share words of comfort with the Davis family at www.
