Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 12 P.M., at Bellevue Street Baptist Church, 326 W. Bellevue Street, Opelousas, LA for Charles Ray “Ponkin” Riggs, 60, who entered eternal rest on Friday, February 22, 2019 at his residence. Charles leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his legacy, his children, Jamal Noel of Houston, TX and LaShawn Jason of Beaumont, TX, brothers Dexter Riggs of Houston, TX and Troy Riggs of Beaumont, TX, sisters, Grace Rosette of Opelousas, Vanessa R. Veazie (Daniel) of Lafayette, LA, Talisa R. Joubert (Larry) of Opelousas, LA and Vickie A. Comeaux also Opelousas, LA, grandchildren: Larry Jackson, Eric Martin, Jamal Noel, Jr., Ja’Kaih Noel, his Godfather James Comeaux, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Riggs, Sr. and Ella Mae Comeaux Riggs, sisters: Martha Mae Carter and Linda Riggs Darby, brothrs; Floyd Riggs, Jr. and Darrell D. Riggs.
