Amanda Elizabeth Stephens September 21, 1980 – November 13, 2018 SOUTH BEND – Amanda Elizabeth Stephens, 38, residing in South Bend, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her home. Amanda was born on September 21, 1980 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin to David A. Stephens and Lynn (Ball) Stephens. Amanda was raised in Atlanta, GA and had lived in this area for the past twenty years.

Amanda attended school at Indiana University South Bend and was an extremely intelligent woman with a hunger for knowledge. She read about psychology, sociology and political science in her free time. She was a skilled drummer who possessed immense musical knowledge.

She could talk endlessly about her favorite bands, impressing all with her musical trivia, and she was wildly creative, spending her time writing poetry and creating art. She embraced her Bolivian heritage and hoped to travel there someday. Her ashes will be taken there in her memory.

She shared her heart with her life partner, Rick Clifford, whom she loved deeply and who mirrored her passion for music. She valued and spoke often of her dearest friend of 34 years, Dessa Brooks Whitlow. Surviving are Amanda’s parents, David A. (Frankie) Stephens of Waynesville, GA and Lynn Stephens of Atlanta, GA; sister, Victoria Gress of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers, Zachary Stephens and Liam Gress, both of Atlanta, GA; grandparents, Stephen and Jill Ball, both of Pearland, TX; and many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins of the Ball and Stephens’ families.

A Service Celebrating Amanda’s Life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. , South Bend, IN 46615 with a time of gathering following the service till 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
