Amy Kathleen Skidmore, age 94, formerly of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Wednesday afternoon September 12, 2018 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born in New Hampshire, Ohio to the late Horace Avery and Claribel H. (Huber) Neer. Amy married DeWeese Loder Skidmore August 15, 1945 in Bellefontaine, and he preceded her in death September 24, 1979.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Steven L. Skidmore; a great-grandson, Avery Camden LeVan; two sisters, Floy Sharp and Jean Harmon and a brother, Neil Neer. Amy was a life-member of the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church where she did volunteer work and was a member of the church circle, the Aim Well Sunday School class and was a co-founder of the Warm Clothes Program at the church. While her husband DeWeese was the Sheriff, Amy worked as the Matron of the jail.

She was also a member of the Logan County Farm Bureau. Amy is survived by her son, Timothy D. (Kathleen) Skidmore of Bellefontaine; a daughter-in-law Dottie Skidmore of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth (Dean) LeVan, Cory (Barb) Skidmore, and Aryelle (Charles) Howe; four great-grandchildren, Sophia and Flynn Skidmore, and Chloe and Carter Howe. Pastor Ben Shaeffer will officiate a graveside service Monday, September 17, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.

The arrangements are being handled by the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
