Mary L. Roby, age 84, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Monday evening October 29, 2018, at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio. She was born in DeGraff, Ohio April 8, 1934, to Emmett and Edna (Strong) Roby who preceded her in death. Mary was also preceded in death by three brothers, Willis Roby, Alvin Roby, and Norman Roby.

Mary is survived by one sister, LaDema (Warren) VanGundy of Wapakoneta, Ohio; a special friend, Marion Palmer of Bellefontaine; nephews, Mike (Charlotte) Roby of Bellefontaine, and Rick (Belinda) VanGundy of Lima, Ohio; a niece, Debra Badertscher of St. Mary’s, Ohio; a special friend, Biddy Oliver of Huntsville, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Bernice Roby of Bellefontaine; three foster brothers, Bob (Betsy) Shoffstall, Tim (Sherry) Shoffstall, and Kenneth (Roxanne) Shoffstall, all of Lakeview, Ohio and a number of other nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary graduated from Jackson Center High School in 1952. She then graduated from nurses training at Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio with the class of 1955.

She then went to Bible School at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. While she was there, she worked at the Marion General Hospital in Marion, Indiana. She was the night supervisor at Paulding Hospital for several years.

After moving to Bellefontaine, she worked at the Green Hills Nursing Home retiring in 1995. Mary attended the First Church of God after returning to the Bellefontaine area. Pastor Ray Headings will officiate the funeral service Friday, November 2, 2018, at 1P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.

Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rushsylvania Cemetery in Rushsylvania, Ohio. ET Donations may be made to: First Church of God 1000 E. Brown Ave.
