Devin Nathaniel Marchal, age 16, of West Liberty, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, as the result of an automobile accident in Champaign County. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Marchal in 1988 and his adopted grandparents, Don and Adele Detwiller. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio November 23, 2001, a son of Gary and Elizabeth (Beckley) Marchal who survive in West Liberty.

He is also survived by two brothers, Treven and Jaden Marchal, both of West Liberty; two sisters, Ciera (Jeremy Jenkins) Marchal of Springfield, Ohio, and Kyerah Marchal of West Liberty; maternal grandparents, Randel (Lesa) Beckley of Raymond, Ohio and Dorothy (Frank) Lewis of Marysville, Ohio; paternal grandparents, James (Eileen) Marchal of St. Paris, Ohio; many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; his girlfriend, Alexz Sabin of Springfield; his Scoutmasters, Tom Irick and Chuck Overly, and his Scout #182 and the St. Patrick Church Youth Group families. Devin was a Junior at West Liberty-Salem High School and was enrolled in the College Prep program through Wright State University and participated in the Marching and Concert Bands and Science Olympiad. He was active in Boy Scouts, where he was working towards his Eagle Scout.

He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he was active in the youth group. Devin will be remembered as a fun-loving student at West Liberty-Salem who enjoyed spending time and having fun with his friends. He left his imprints on the world and brought all of us along on his journey.

Father Shawn Landenwitch will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 1:30 to 3:30 P.M. and 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery (Piatt Cemetery), Monroe Twp.

A West Liberty-Salem Band Foot Steps Memorial Celebration will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 12 noon at the West Liberty-Salem Band Practice Field. The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty.
