Don R. Mann, age 89, of Jackson Center, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his home with his loving son by his side. He was born January 2, 1929, in Jackson Township in Shelby County to the late Elmer P. and Mayme M. (Rickert) Mann. Don married Lois Gerber January 30, 1949 in Jackson Center, and she preceded him in death April 26, 2013.

He was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Bailey Mann; a sister, Betty (Mann) Collins and a brother, Dale K. Mann. Don is survived by his son, Jeff (Laurie Honigford) Mann of Sidney, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tisha (Darrell) Nichols of DeGraff, Ohio, Clint (Katie) Mann of Jackson Center, Curtis Mann and Jacob Mann, both of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Alexis and Taylor Nichols, Ashlin, McKenzie, and Carly Mann. After graduating in 1946 from Jackson Center High School, Don worked for Mann & Son Hardware in Jackson Center.

He also worked thirty five years at Westinghouse in Bellefontaine from where he retired. Don also worked many years as the Jackson Center Zoning Inspector before retiring in 2012. Don was a lifetime member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

He was a member of the Ohio National Guard, Company I – 148th Infantry Regiment and was honorably discharged June 22, 1951. He was also a member of the Jackson Center American Legion, Sidney Elks, Indian Lake Moose, and the Masonic Lodge. Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Rev. Dr. Cathi Braasch, STS, will officiate a memorial service at noon Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center, where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Private family burial will be in the Glen Cemetery.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center. ET Donations may be made to: Anna Rescue Squad 203 S. Linden Ave.
