Rose Ann Shoemaker, age 89, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 8:05 P.M. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the Campbell Place in Bellefontaine. She was born in Ripley, Ohio March 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Pauline (Simmers) Smith. On August 18, 1950, she married Robert H. “Bob” Shoemaker and he preceded her in death July 19, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael “Mike” Shoemaker in 2017; a sister, Betty Smith and a brother, John Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Nick) Menden of Dublin, Ohio; a son, Tim (Bobbi) Shoemaker of Westerville, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Julie Shoemaker of Hilliard, Ohio; six grandchildren, Eric (Talia) St. Clair, Jill (Lucas) Chamberlin, Timothy J. “TJ” (Erin) Shoemaker, Joy Shoemaker, Kristin Shoemaker, and Olivia Menden; eight great-grandchildren, Case, Reese, Addison, Christopher, Cameron, Haley, Briauna, Lucas and several nieces and nephews. Rose was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family and loved to host family gatherings, especially around the holidays.

She also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine where she was active in the church’s small groups. Pastor Randy Reed will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Bellefontaine. The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
