Mary Porter, age 80, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 11:15 A.M. Sunday, September 9, 2018, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Columbus, Ohio September 30, 1937, to the late Laras Cecil and Mary E. (Leeth) Runyan and was raised in Springfield, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heather Hall; a son-in-law, David Scheff; two sisters, Margaret Kennedy and Virginia Clark and a brother, James Runyan.

On January 30, 1955, Mary married her husband of fifty nine years, Thomas W. Porter and he preceded her in death November 27, 2014. Mary is survived by her five children, Debra (William) Wilson of Bellefontaine, Gina Scheff of West Liberty, Ohio, Tina (John) Wheatley of Beebe, Arkansas, Virginia (Tadd) Chaney and Noah (Pamela) Dillon, both of Springfield, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and eagerly anticipating another great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. A homemaker, Mary enjoyed taking care of her yard and flowers.

She loved fishing at Indian Lake and making crafts for the annual Fall Festival at the Indian Lake State Park. Mary most especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff, Ohio, where Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.

The funeral arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
