Amy Sue (Tammen) Brown, age 50 of Zeeland, MI (formerly of Grand Haven), passed away December 22, 2018 in Zeeland. She was born August 25, 1968 in Niles, MI to Bonnie (Juhl) and Daryl Tammen. Amy was a graduate of Grand Haven High School, MCC, and Calvin College.

She married Garland (Red) Brown on May 24, 2003. Amy worked at Bil Mar Foods for nine years and also at Pioneer Res for five years. She was a volunteer at Holland Hospital for many years and loved the outdoors, camping, and playing cards.

Amy was an eternal optimist and people person, bringing laughter and joy to everyone who met her. She is survived by her husband, Garland (Red); parents, Daryl and Bonnie Tammen of Grand Haven; sisters, Tami Jean (Jeff) VerHelst of Phoenix, AZ and Kristin (Marty) Smith of Menlo Park, CA; her niece, Elizabeth VerHelst; nephews, Jake and Ben Smith; and father-in-law, Sam Brown of Chattanooga, TN. Friends are invited to greet her family from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be given to Harbor Humane Society or Spectrum Health Foundation.
