Andre “Andy” Anderson, age 85, of Sheboygan, passed away into peace on Friday, July 20, 2018. He was born December 27, 1932 in Sheboygan to Chester and Romana (Pilon) Anderson. He attended Jefferson Elementary School and was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1951.

From January, 1952 to December, 1953 Andy served his country in the US Marine Corps stationed in Korea. Following his honorable discharge, Andy furthered his education at LTI.

On June 9, 1956 Andy and Dorine A. Ruppel were united in marriage at Immanuel Lutheran Church. After fifty-six years of marriage, she preceded him in death on June 29, 2012. For a number of years Andy was employed at the Wisconsin School for Boys as a youth counselor.

He also worked at the Kohler Co. and previously owned Chief’s Sharp Corners Bar. Andy loved to work with children. He was a member of the Senior Drum and Bugle Corps and the VFW 1230 Jr

Drum and Bugle Corps and served as a drillmaster for both the VFW 1230 Jr Drum Corps and the Top Hats. He also was a coach for Little League and was an umpire for the Sheboygan Recreation Department and SSA.

He also coached girls softball until he was almost 75 and was known affectionately as “Grandpa Andy”. He truly enjoyed that part of his life. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Kim) Anderson and Keith (Katie) Anderson; his grandsons, Jason Hansen, Gregory (Tracy) Hansen, Timmothy (fiancée, Sara Neum) Anderson, Parker Anderson; granddaughters, Tanya Anderson and Ashley Anderson; step grandchildren, Saige and McKena Ramos; great-grandchildren, Preston and Aiden Anderson, Holden and Bailey Hansen; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorine, his daughter, Cindy Schickert Anderson and his son, Scott Anderson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. A time of visitation and support will be held from 12 Noon until the time of service.

Burial with full military honors will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Andy would like to thank his sister-in-law, Sandi Ruppel, his counselor, Alex Liosatos, and his granddaughter, Ashley for helping him through the difficult time he had after Dorine passed.
