Andrew’s Obituary Andrew A. Polo, 86, of Roseto, PA passed away Monday, May 27th, at Slate Belt Health and Rehab. Center, Bangor. Andrew was born in Trenton, NJ on May 12, 1933, a son of the late Anthony and Carmela (Roma) Polo.

Andrew was employed as an engine operator at Dally Slate Quarry Pen Argyl, PA, and various other slate quarries in the Slate Belt area, until retiring in 1998. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Andrew was an avid gardener and enjoyed talking in Italian to his friends from Italy and Canada.

Andrew is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Catino of Pen Argyl and Rosemarie Stevens of Bangor, a sister in law Sarah Polo of Bangor, 4 nieces Lisa Thomas, Dena Mulitsch, Lee Ann Trexler, and Staci Meyers, 3 nephews Anthony and Chris Catino, and Joe Polo, many great nieces, great nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Carmella Polo, a brother Angelo Polo and 2 nephews Terry Stevens and Arthur C. Catino, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbit Ave. , Pen Argyl, PA with Msgr.

Vincent York, officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 11 AM until Noon on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the church. Mausoleum entombment will be in New Catholic Cemetery, Roseto, PA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbit Ave.
