Andrew (Andy) C. Davila Jr., 69, of Corsicana/Glen Flora, died Wednesday, March 6th 2019, from complications of heart disease in Sugar Land, TX. Andy was born June 1st 1949, in Corsicana and was long term area resident until he moved to be closer to his daughter and granddaughter in Glen Flora, Texas. As a young child, he attended St. Monica grade school in Dallas.

He then attended and graduated from Jesuit Prep High School of Dallas in 1968. He played football there and always had great memories of winning state in their football program. He was awarded a scholarship from Jesuit and attended then Navarro Junior College in Corsicana.

He graduated from Navarro College in 1983 with his Associate in Science. He enjoyed a lifelong career of 30+ years with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He retired as an assistant to the director of the Security Threat Group Management Office.

His work in gang intelligence allowed him to travel to speak on his expertise and he educated/assisted many professional organizations on this topic. After his retirement, he also worked for the Texas Youth Commission for over 5 years. Andy always want to stay busy so he had many fun part time jobs after this.

He spent his retirement years with his family in Glen Flora, TX. He loved being outside and enjoyed golfing. He was a family man that spent a lot of time with his granddaughter Liv which she affectionately called him “Grrrr and sometimes Grampy”.

He always called her an “angel” and he will be her angel now. He is survived by wife, Bonnie Davila; daughter, Andrea Davila Muegge; son, Andrew Davila; granddaughter, Liv; his sister, Belinda Moreno and husband Lewis, niece and nephew, Delaney & Devin; sister, Mercy Alonzo and husband Sunday; nephew, Mike Alonzo; niece, Racheal Lovett Gilbert; brother and nephews Josh and Christian Davila; brother-in-law, George Westover and wife Teresa; nephews Brian and David; nieces Kelly, Christy and numerous other dear family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Anita and Andres Davila; brothers Randy, Floyd, and Freddy and other beloved family members that have passed on.

Notably a nephew and fishing buddy Chad Westover. A rosary and viewing will be held at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana, TX on March 8th at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Corsicana on March 9th at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Corsicana. Pallbearers for the funeral service will be Josh Hale, Christian Davila, Devin Moreno, Sunday Alonzo, Randy Alonzo, and Michael Alonzo.
