Andrew John “Andy” Hughes, 56, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 11:38 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Seend, England on May 24, 1961 to Vera (Drew) Hughes and the late John Hughes. On December 28, 2001 he married the former Deb Chamberlain in Tennessee and she survives, along with his four daughters, Kayleigh (Rikki) Gullis and Sophie Hughes, both of England, Natasha Carr and Emily (Brock) Coyer, both of Bellefontaine; three sons, Josh (Mary) Carr, Clay (Katie) Carr, and Logan Carr, all of Bellefontaine; 10 grandchildren, Zack Gullis, Aiden Carr, Taylor Clary, Braylon Carr, Ariah Carr, Ayson Carr, Austin Hartzler, Liam Carr, Kingston Carr, and Hailey Coyer; two sisters, Angela (Jay) Lucas and Alison (Terry) Kier, both of England; and several nieces and nephews.

Andy was a Systems 3 & 4 group leader for Scotts Miracle Grow, where he loved his “work family” and deeply respected his supervisor and friend, Steve Spriggs. He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid fan of soccer and the Cincinnati Reds. Andy was a one-of-a-kind individual who knew no strangers and was loved by everyone who met him.

His passion in life was his grandkids…he loved spending time with them and never missed an activity in which they were involved. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11th at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
