Margaret Ellen “Muggy” Stringer, 91, of Bellefontaine, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2018, at Green Hills Care Center. She was born in Bellefontaine on November 16, 1926, to the late Herbert Henry and Margaret Lucille (English) Keagy. She was also preceded in death by a sister Geraldine Henry, brother-in-law Carl Henry, son-in-law Michael L. Davis, and two great-grandchildren.

Muggy was a 1944 graduate of Bellefontaine High School. She was a commissioned clerk at Merchant Industries and retired in 1992. A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Muggy was also active with the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

She loved to take walks, go to Dollar General, spend time in her garden, and collecting rocks. Muggy was a non-judgemental person and enjoyed her grandchildren, always slipping money to them. “Grandma Strings” was a special person and will be missed by many.

Muggy is survived by her daughters, Susan D. (Sam) Sheeley, and Sandra E. (Mike) Arbogast, both of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren: Troy Stringer, Rebecca (Dallas) Dixon, Adam (Brenna) Sheeley, Michael (Lona) Davis Jr., Heather (Lanny Neff) Sheeley, Matthew Davis, and Meggan (Rick) Eubanks; three step-grandchildren: Melissa McKee, Robert Sheeley, and Shannon (Nancy) Sheeley; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and five nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 11am at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Shawn Landenwitch officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in care of Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine.
