Janet Verlyn Rees, 88, of Lakeview, passed away Saturday evening, July 28, 2018, at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Deshler, Ohio on February 2, 1930, to the late Gerald and Florence (Heyman) Purcell. Janet was also preceded in death by brothers Robert Purcell, and Ross Purcell, and a sister Nancy Lawrence.

A 1948 graduate of Deshler High School, Janet was a lifelong Lutheran. She lived in Deshler, later moved to Texas, then to Norwalk, Ohio and most recently to Lakeview. While living in Texas, she worked many years as a secretary.

Janet is survived by a son, David Rees of Lakeview; David’s father; William H. Rees of Rushsylvania; granddaughter Lara Rees of Lakeview; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pastor Ray Headings will officiate a graveside service on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 1pm at Rushsylvania Cemetery. The arrangements are being handled by the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine.
