Charles L. Allen, 82, of DeGraff, passed away at 6:25 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Sidney, Ohio on February 14, 1936 to the late Clinton O. and Mary Helen (Allison) Allen. On December 18, 1954 Charles married the former Phyllis E. Hughes, his wife of 63 years, in Quincy, Ohio, and she survives, along with their children Lois (Terry) Prosser of Quincy and Timothy L. Allen of DeGraff; four grandchildren, Heather (Brook) Price, Joshua Prosser, Samantha (Chad) Davis, and Charlie Allen; a great granddaughter, Addison Prosser; a brother, Roger Allen of Ravenna; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Lucy Mae Allen; two sisters, Grace Zirkle and Opal (Foust) Wones; and three brothers, Cecil, Jerry, and Earl Allen. Charles had worked for Copeland and managed numerous Certified Gas Stations prior to his retirement. He attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Bellefontaine and enjoyed camping, fishing, motorcycles and wintering in Florida.

He most especially enjoyed his family and the life he lived. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff, Ohio. Pastor Brad Angus will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20th at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
