Phyllis M. Pohlschneider, age 85, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 10:55 P.M. Friday, September 14, 2018 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine. She was born in Piqua, Ohio January 30, 1933, the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Ladonna L. (Reece) Francis. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Forest “Earl” Pohlschneider and a brother, B. Dean Francis.

She is survived by a daughter, Leslie Ann “LeeAnn” (Ron) Swonguer of Huntsville, Ohio; three sons, Dan (Brenda) Shively of Bellefontaine, Charlie (Rhonda) Shively of Shelbyville, Texas and John P. Shively of DeGraff, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jana R. (Tim) McPherson, Kylene (Josh) Pick and Troy (Amber) Shively, nine great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Eileen Ambos of Jackson Center, Ohio and Mary Jane Martin of Covington, Ohio; her first husband, Ralph Shively and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a 1951 graduate of Piqua High School and worked as a homemaker and as a teacher’s aide for Bellefontaine City Schools for eighteen years before she retired. She enjoyed nature and gardening in her flower beds.

She loved to care for her family especially cooking and sewing for them and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pastor Ed Shady will officiate a memorial service at 12 noon Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Huntsville Cemetery at a later date. The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
