Jack H. LeVan, 77, of rural Zanesfield passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 11:31 a.m. at his niece’s home after a brave battle with cancer. Jack was born May 17, 1941, to N. Perry and Hazel K. (Sanford) LeVan. He is survived by a sister, Marlene (Robert E.) Brown; two nieces, Violetta Brown and Brenda (Jon) Williams; and one nephew, Perry (Debora) Brown; all of Zanesfield.

Other special nieces and nephews include: Tracy (Ed) Cline, Nicole Williams, C. Matthew (Emily) Stockton, Robert N. Brown, Kierstyn Titus, Kiley Titus, Kaden Titus, Drew Williams, Shayla Flagler, and C. Jacob Stockton. An older brother, Donald LeVan, is deceased. Jack will also be missed by extended family, neighbors, and friends.

A 1959 graduate of Zanesfield-Monroe High School, Jack participated in baseball, football, and basketball. He attended The Ohio State University and Franklin University. After serving in the US Army, Jack worked for Mary Rutan Hospital and the Logan County Highway Department, but his true joy was operating the family farm, which was recently recognized as a Century Farm by the state of Ohio.

He was a member of East Liberty Masonic Lodge #247 and a 32 degree of both Scottish and York Rite bodies, Zanesfield American Legion Post #599, and was inducted into the Benjamin Logan Athletic Boosters Hall of Fame last February. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending high school athletic events. Jon Williams and Perry Brown will conduct a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, June 16, at 10 a.m. at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine.

Friends may call on the family on Friday, June 15, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in Zanesfield Cemetery.
