Angela Yvonne Beck Adkisson, 65, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019. Angela was born in Hapeville, GA, the daughter of Hoyt and Agnes Beck. She attended Hapeville First Baptist and Hapeville High before earning degrees from the Medical College of Georgia (BS) and Augusta College (M.

Ed. ). Angela was a dental hygienist, well-loved instructor at MCG and West Georgia Technical College, and a consultant with Alliant GMCF.

Angela joined Marietta First Baptist Church in 1982, and was known for her leadership in WMU, VBS, New Life Aerobics, and the Banner Ministry. Her dedication to the church’s Fourth of July outreach served hundreds of Marietta’s police, fire, and sanitation workers over the past twenty years. Angela was a creative and accomplished seamstress.

Her group of sewing friends shared many adventures through the years and she was known for the countless last-minute alterations made to save important events. Angela’s support of her children and their many activities was legendary, from Hickory Hills Elementary to Marietta High School and beyond. Her love for them took her to South Korea, New York, New Haven, and more.

Angela is survived by children, Hayley of Brooklyn, NY; Paul, of Dhaka, Bangladesh; and Kevin, of Bloomfield Hills, MI, their dad Dale Adkisson (Kris) of Marietta and his mother, Mearl Adkisson, her brother and sister-in-law Danny & Julie Beck, their children Samuel (Hannah) and Joanna, and a large extended family. Visitation is Saturday, February 2, 3-6pm at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Church St, Marietta, and funeral service in the Marietta First Baptist Sanctuary on Sunday, February 3, at 2:00pm.
