Susie Baggott McKinnon, 81, of Marietta, passed away March 13, 2019. She leaves a legacy of her Christian faith, quick wit, and love for her family and friends. Susie spread happiness and joy wherever she went.

She and her late husband of 37 years, Dr. Frank Westmoreland McKinnon, enjoyed serving at First Methodist Church Youth Camp, hunting together, family ski trips, and Tuesday night family dinners. Susie was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 3, 1937, to the late Sue Leaman and Robert Taylor Baggott. She had been a member of First Methodist Church of Marietta since 1967.

Susie grew up in Augusta where she attended school. She worked for Citizens and Southern National Bank as an Executive Assistant. Susie was past president of the Cobb Medical Auxiliary and Altar Guild at her church.

Also, she was a member of the Mountain Laurel Garden Club and Birthday Club. Susie is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frank Westmoreland McKinnon and her brother, Reverend Robert Taylor Baggott, Jr She is survived by her sons, Frank Westmoreland McKinnon, Jr. (Tammy), Carter Lane McKinnon (Anne), David George McKinnon, and Clay Taylor McKinnon; grandchildren, Carleigh Lynne McKinnon, Carter Lane McKinnon, Jr., Alexander Westmoreland McKinnon, Miles Parker McKinnon, Mary Taylor McKinnon, and Molly Campbell McKinnon.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 17th, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18th, at 11:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church of Marietta with her nephew, Revered Robert Baggott III and Reverend Julie Boone officiating. Hylton Dupree, Jr. will be giving the eulogy.

Internment will be at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park immediately following the service with Dr. Charles Sineath officiating. In lieu of flowers, donation may be sent to Paul Anderson Youth Home, P.O. Box 525, Vidalia, Georgia 30475 or First United Methodist Church, 56 Whitlock Avenue NW, Marietta, Georgia 30064. Mayes Ward-Dobbins in Marietta is in charge of the arrangements.
