Allen Steven Ledford II, 65, of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Allen was born at Kennestone Hospital on Tuesday, August 4, 1953. He was a lifelong resident of Cobb County.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Marietta for more than 50 years. Allen was a kind, generous, thoughtful and Godly man. His favorite Bible verse was Micah 6:8.

He was a Cub Scout, a Sunbeam, a Royal Ambassador, dedicated son, grandson, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend. He attended West Side Elementary School and graduated from Marietta High School in 1971. Allen was employed by Cobb County Schools before joining his father and brother at Ledford Automotive.

He was preceded in death by his father Milton Lamar “Dick” Ledford Sr. and his mother Annie Lou (Gee) Ledford. Allen is survived by his brother Milton Lamar Ledford Jr. (Kathy) and their sons Charles Milton “Clete” Ledford (Sarah) and Benjamin Lamar Ledford (Wendy); his sister Janis Katherine (Ledford) Wilson (Stephen H. “Beau” Wilson) and their daughters Stephanie Janis Wilson (like a nephew, Michael Abney) and Ashlie (Wilson) Pendley (John). Allen also has three great nephews and three great nieces: Jed, Jake and Scout Ledford, Addison Ledford, Beau Pendley and Katherine Elizabeth “Katie Beth” Pendley.

Allen’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Marietta, located at 148 Church Street. Use the parking lot across from the Welcome Center. Take the elevator to the second floor; pass through the Chapel Parlor into the Chapel.

Visitation reception immediately following the service in the Chapel Parlor. In lieu of flowers, please honor Allen with a donation to the Grateful First Fund—First Baptist Church of Marietta. Please wear red, Allen’s favorite color.
