Anna J Cannell , September 28, 1927 — June 07, 2018

On June 7, 2018, a kind heart and beautiful soul left behind her earthly pain to join her heavenly family. Anna Josephine was born September 28, 1927 to Albert and Helen (Taylor) Latz in Elsie, Michigan. She graduated Valedictorian Class of 45 and after high school entered the St. Lawrence Nursing Program.

Anyone that ever met Anna knew that there was something very special about her.

There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with family and friends. Her entire life was spent taking care of others – from younger siblings, to her husband, to her children, and on to her grandchildren. She was a caregiver to the end – comforting others and making sure that everyone else was going to be okay without her.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brothers, Albert and Gilbert, and sister, Helen Mort. She leaves behind, to keep her memory alive, her children: Ted Jr. (Robin) of Davison, MI; Cheryl (Al) Turnauer of Naperville, IL, Judy (Arend) Post of Olivet, MI, Sandi (Brian) Wood of Eaton Rapids, MI and John (Cathy) Cannell of New Franklin, WI. She is also survived by her beloved fur-babies, Scooter and Gabby, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brothers Richard (Rose) and Thomas (Shari) Latz, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers over these past six years, especially Liz Tabor and the staff at Sensations Memory Care in Charlotte. You became our extended family and took care of Mom when we weren’t able, treating her with so much love. You were truly Angels among us.

A Memorial service will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 2:00 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1519 Elmwood Road, Lansing, MI 48917. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church.
