She was a wonderful cook and could stretch a meal to include any neighborhood kid. No one was ever turned away. She made famous popcorn balls that brought grown children back to her house to trick or treat.
After she raised her children, she worked as an activity assistant at Alexandria Convalescent Center and Manor Care. She enjoyed working in her yard, going to rummage sales and the Anderson Farmers Market. She loved “Family Dinner Night” every Tuesday with family and friends, playing cards, reading and shopping for the perfect gifts for others.
All were welcome in Gran’s home. No one left hungry or empty handed. It was always “Wait, I have something for you”.
She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and develop their own personalities and interests. She was always wondering what they would do next. Her spirit was strong, but her body grew tired and she will have to watch from Heaven.
