Anna M Swift , June 18, 1916 — June 15, 2018

Anna M. Jasinowski Swift, age 101, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2018 at Moultrie Creek Nursing and Rehab Center in St. Augustine, FL. Ann was born on June 18, 1916 to Ignatius (James) and Antonina Jasinowski. She lived most of her life in La Porte, IN, and lived in Michigan City, IN with her daughter before moving to St. Augustine, FL.

As a young married woman, one of her jobs was working as an attendant at Cutler Funeral Home in La Porte. In addition to being a devoted wife and homemaker, she worked as a seamstress making draperies for many years. Ann was a member of First Baptist Church of La Porte for over 70 years where she served on the altar guild, was a deaconess and Sunday School teacher, and served on many committees.

She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 20 years. Ann led by serving. She was an avid golfer for many years and traveled throughout the United States and the world.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Swift; her son, William “Bill” Swift II; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers. She is survived by her son, Thomas “Tom” Swift of Stockton, CA; her daughter, Ann Marie Scott and husband Ron of Elkton, FL; a sister, Joan Kowalczyk and husband Richard of La Porte; a grandson, R. Lee Scott and wife Dianna of Michigan City; a granddaughter, Darrah Kinnett and husband Chris of St. Augustine; and 4 great-grandchildren, Tallon Scott of Jacksonville, and Taryn, Ashlyn, and Carson Kinnett all of St. Augustine. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 am (CST) on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

A time of visitation will take place from 10 am until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery in La Porte. Memorial contributions may be made to La Porte Meals on Wheels, 800 Michigan Avenue, Suite 10, La Porte, IN 46350.
