Annabelle R. Rice, age 84, of Johnston township, OH, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Vibra Hospital in Warren,OH. She was born May 21, 1934, in Punxsutawney, PA, a daughter of John V. and Cora E. (Hughes) Robertson. A resident of Johnston for more than 40 years, Mrs. Rice was formerly of Fowler and Warren.

She was employed as a telephone operator for United Telephone Company and then Trumbull Memorial Hospital for 16 years when she retired in 1986. She was a member of the Kinsman Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. Mrs. Rice had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed collecting antique books.

She attended the Johnston Senior Center; and loved going to rummage and garage sales and auctions. She married Wallace E. “Barney” Rice on June 9, 1956, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2013. She is also preceded by her parents; her daughter, Renee Rice in 1992; a great granddaughter, Alexis Rothrock; two brothers, John Robertson and Don Robertson; and three sisters, Doris Bellis, Mabel Pitocco, and Mary Lou Sprankle.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Rice of Johnston township,OH, and Mary (Gary) Handzlik of Johnston township,OH; her four grandchildren, Jeremy (Amber) Pavick, Joseph Pavick, Jessica ( Alan) Rothrock, and Tyler Handzlik; and two great-grandchildren, Shane Rothrock and Logan Pavick. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Howard Darr officiating.
