Mrs. Anna Bell Thompson was born on November 15, 1929 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Eddie and Marie Snow McKnight. Anna Bell departed this life on Friday, December 7, 2018.

Anna Bell was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Nesmith, South Carolina. She was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County, and was formerly employed with Richland County School District One. She was preceded in death by her husband, King Thompson; two sons, Bobby Thompson and Willie Graham; and two brothers, Eddie Lee McKnight and Marion McKnight.

Anna Bell leaves to cherish her memories: nine children: Gwendolyn (Leroy) Scott Napier of Camden, NJ; Mary McKnight of Bronx, NY; Shirley (Allen) Davis of Kingstree, SC; Carol (Albert) Brown of Columbia, SC; Ann C. Carter of Atlanta, GA; Donald Thompson of Columbia, SC; Mark Thompson of Columbia, SC; Deborah Thompson of Columbia, SC; and Denear (Marcus) Thompson of Florence; SC; a special granddaughter whom she raised, Tattianna Hogg of Charlotte, NC; seventeen other grandchildren; a host great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Vester Lee (Rena) McKnight of Hemingway, SC; one sister, Anna Marie (Earl) Lester of Boston, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
