Greene officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery. Annette Boles was born December 29, 1931 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late James Thomas and Mattie Lou (Hughes) Anderson.
She was one of five siblings and spent her days helping in the home while her parents worked as sharecroppers on a cotton farm. She met David Boles in 1952 and they enjoyed a 52-year marriage. Her faith was made sight on February 12, 2019.
Shortly after David and Ann were married in Alabama, they moved to Lufkin, Texas to join in the family business at Boles Food Market. There, Ann led the charge in training employees and teaching everyone the value of hard work, dependability and loyalty to their jobs. Her favorite part of the day was the lunch hour when she would serve hot lunches to the working crowd of Lufkin at the Boles deli counter.
Ann and David were blessed to own Boles Food Market for over 50 years. After the grocery stores closed, she continued her love of hard work at MarTeres Tea Room, joyfully serving alongside her daughter, Teresa. She loved serving others, being around people and visiting with customers about days gone by.
At a young age, Ann trusted Jesus as her Savior. That relationship patterned the way she would live, love and train her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a prayer warrior.
If you walked into her house at any given time, it wasn’t uncommon to find her in her chair, praying audibly for so many people. She believed in prayer and had seen its power at work in and around her. She was a lifelong supporter of missions locally and around the world.
She loved serving her church, especially singing in the church choir. She was a faithful choir member for over 60 years. She loved music and singing hymns of the Faith.
She enjoyed fellowship and Bible study with her LIFE group at Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Through the years, she developed many special friendships with this group, and these relationships were a great treasure to her. Ann loved making others feel special.
She sent numerous birthday cards, well wishes and homemade pies to countless people each year. She knew the value of relationship and loved to visit with her friends. After her Lord, her greatest joy in life was her family.
She was a loyal mother to her four children, a fun Memaw to her seven grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to her six great-grandchildren. She served her family well and never passed up an opportunity to make the kids feel special. Throughout her 87 years, Ann was a constant pillar of faith for her family and friends.
In the words of one of her nephews, “This world never changed her from the Aunt Ann I knew as a kid”.
