Anthony’s Obituary Funeral services for Anthony “Tony” Alan Smith, 62-year-old Watonga, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, February 22, 2019, 2:00 Watonga Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Geraldene Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Watonga IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Tony was born March 9, 1956, in Watonga, Oklahoma to David Franklin Smith and Barbara (Rehlan) Grimes and passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Mercy Hospital Watonga. Tony was raised and attended school in Hitchcock, Oklahoma and also attended school in Okeene, Oklahoma until the 11th grade. He married Karen Bearshield in year 1976.

Tony worked as a roughneck in the oilfield through the 80’s. His wife, Karen, passed away in 1981. In 1986, he joined his life with Norma Janelle Addison and they raised their families together in Hitchcock.

They adopted a nephew, Caleb, together in 1990 and were later joined by their daughter, Audrey, in 1993. He worked as a carpenter, doing demolition, remodeling and construction. Tony and Janelle married April 23, 2005, in Watonga at Christ Gospel Church.

They moved into Watonga in 2015. Tony enjoyed fishing, rattlesnake hunting, playing the guitar in church and at home; and was an avid gardener. He loved teaching his children about carpentry and working on automobiles.

Tony and Janelle took in many children throughout the years, adopting some of them. He was baptized in 2009. When he and Janelle became empty nesters, they enjoyed traveling together.

Tony is survived by his wife, Janelle Smith of their home in Watonga, Oklahoma; three sons, Aaron (Coeta) Robinson of Watonga, Oklahoma, Anthony (Valarie) Smith of Geary, Oklahoma, and Elondrae Swanegan of Watonga, Oklahoma; three daughters, Amber Robinson, Audrey (Michael Johnson) Smith, and Andrea Doctor all of Watonga, Oklahoma; two brothers, Chuck (Camilla) Smith of Leedey, Oklahoma and Billy (Nancy) Smith of Atoka, Oklahoma; one sister, Linda (George) Estrella of Comanche, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Karen Smith; and one son, Caleb Canaday.
