Obituary for Anthony Alvarez Anthony Alvarez, 87, of Bonita Springs, FL and Ocean City, MD, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018. He had been a resident of Bonita Springs for the last 25 years. He was born August 6, 1930 in South Plainfield, NJ, the son of José Menendez and Margaret (née Fusco) Alvarez.

Tony loved his family and cherished his time at the beach with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a passion for the game of football and played in both high school and college. Mr. Alvarez is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marion (née Margalski) Alvarez; his beloved daughters, Jean (Richard) Rittermann of Annapolis, MD, Nancy (Alan) Carey of Columbia, MD and Barbara (Steve) Krizan of Abingdon, MD; six cherished grandchildren, Douglas (Ashley) Rittermann, Alex (Laurie) Carey, Lauren Rittermann, Melissa Carey, Tyler Krizan and Eric (Brittany) Carey; and six treasured great grandchildren, James, Brooke, Joe, Wesley, Alice and Maya.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28300 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs. Graveside services and burial will take place at a later date at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hope Hospice, www.

hopehospice.org or to the East Tennessee State University Athletic Department, www. etsubucs.com (E Fund). Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home – Family Owned since 1978.
