Russo, Sr October 28, 1935 – March 16, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Anthony Russo, 83, of Saddle Brook, returned home to heaven on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 and has joined his loved ones that went before him, including his parents Vincent and Anna and his siblings: Pat, Annie, Mike, Phyllis, and Millie. He was the dear brother to Jimmy who survives him. He was also the beloved husband of Diana (nee Mauro) for 60 years, a loving father of Ellice and her husband Carmelo, and Anthony and his wife Christine.

Anthony was a proud and devoted grandfather to his “babies” Christina and her husband DJ, Jessica, Alexia, and Ashley. His cat, Juliet, who was his best friend and companion will also miss him dearly along with his many wonderful nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Anthony was born in Bronx, New York, on October 28th, 1935.

He has been a resident of Saddle Brook for the past 47 years where he built and nurtured a family and many friendships. He was a hard and diligent worker for Harry Rich Terrazzo Company in Union before retiring in 2000 and an active parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. Anthony made friends everywhere he went and everyone knew him as Tony, GooGoo or Mr.Russo.

Anthony dedicated his life to his family, never missing a single gathering or special event; family always came first for him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Anthony’s family on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Inc., 274 Market Street, Elmwood Park, New Jersey from 3:00pm-8:00pm. Friends and family will gather Wednesday, March 20th at 8:30 a.m. at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, Inc., 274 Market Street, Elmwood Park.

Funeral Mass will follow at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, Saddle Brook, New Jersey at 9:30 a.m. A private cremation will follow. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn.
