Mom lived a simple and modest life. She loved her family well through her gift of hospitality, cooking our favorite meals and blessing us with homemade Christmas goodies. Her pride and joy were her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

“Grandma” was her favorite title. Gathering with her siblings was one of her favorite things. She loved reminiscing about times past, telling us how she always sacrificed her dessert as a child for her brothers.

She was a hard worker and passed that value on to us. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, canning; flowers and collecting bird figurines. She was a feisty lady who loved to laugh and never lost her sense of humor.

She had her first Harley Davidson ride at age 76 and loved it! Mom had a quiet faith but shared her assurance of salvation. She was an overcomer and never gave up clinging to God’s promises.

We will deeply miss this beautiful soul we call mom but one day we will see her again, that is our eternal hope because of our Savior Jesus Christ. We give Him thanks for our mom and all he created her to be. To him be the glory in her life and in her death.

Survivors are her children: Deb (Jerry) Blatchford of Sioux Falls, SD; Kim (Mike) Brommer of Norfolk, NE; Vicki (Mike) Altena of Luverne, MN; Kristi (Orlin) Oostra of Hull; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Marilyn Gors of Vermillion, SD; Arnold (Betty) Larson of Sioux Falls; Milford (Mary) Larson of Beresford, SD; Delores Uhl of Hampton, IA; Marie Ostrum, Centerville, SD; Karen (Ron) Folkers of Ft Collins, CO; Ken (Sherry) Larson of Sioux Falls; sister-in-law, Lois Larson of Beresford and numerous nieces and nephews.
