Arnold Gay Feather, 88, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at his home. Born April 20, 1930, in Eglon, WV, he was the son of the late Russell Allen and Maude Eby (Judy) Feather. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Beckman.

Arnold owned and operated Arnold Feather Excavating. He was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren, the VFW Post 10077, Deer Park, MD, and a charter member of Mt. Top Promenaders Square Dance Club.

Arnold enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Sue (Beckman) Feather; three sons, John Feather and wife, Julie, Oakland; Kenneth Feather and wife, Teresa, Oakland; James Feather and wife, Cathy, Oakland; one brother, Carl Junior Feather, Kingsville, OH; one sister, Dorothy Burroughs, South Mills, NC; four grandchildren, Andrew Feather, Lawrenceville, VA; Jared Feather, Corinth, WV; Brandi Feather, Aurora, WV; Andrew Bell, Oakland; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, 21550, on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Saturday officiating.

Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland. Military Honors will be accorded by the various veterans’ organizations of Southern Garrett County.
